Case Studies 12

The longer story behind the projects: what the problem was, what I built, the decisions that mattered, and what is still unfinished.

Circuit Digest Cloud: An IoT Platform From MQTT Ping to WhatsApp Alert

A free IoT cloud for makers and embedded developers: device provisioning, MQTT telemetry, live dashboards, GPS geofencing, alerts over email, SMS and WhatsApp, and computer-vision APIs. Built and run at Semicon Media.

Bude Suite: Four Offline-First Apps on Standard ERPNext

Inventory, HR, Sales and Helpdesk apps in Flutter, one Frappe API layer behind them, and a rule that every write lands on a standard ERPNext record. Operations queue on the phone and sync when the signal returns.

Oct 2025 – Present · Flutter · Dart · Riverpod

BUDE MADE: A Two-Sided Maker Marketplace on One Frappe App

Buy what a local maker already made, or post a request and compare private quotes. Both paths end in one auditable order engine, with the concurrency races proven against a real database. Pre-launch.

Dec 2025 – Present · Frappe 16 · Python · MariaDB

One Dell T40: Self-Hosting a Company Platform Behind a Tunnel

The BUDE Global website, the ERP, the marketplace demo and four app demos run on one tower server, reached through a Cloudflare Tunnel with no open inbound ports. What that took, and what is still missing.

2025 – Present · Ubuntu · Cloudflare Tunnel · Nginx

PSGR KCW: An RFID Gate Pilot, 1,800+ Endpoints and a Journal

Three systems from a year at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women: an RFID gate pass piloted with three reader vendors for 10,000 students a day, GLPI inventory across 20+ labs and every institute system, and an OJS journal that put 1,000+ archived papers online.

Jewellery RFID Suite: A Business Built on a Reader Vendor's Tool

A Windows app for counting, tagging and moving jewellery with UHF RFID. I kept the reader vendor's 61-file tool and built the business around it: branch sign-in, licensing, anti-theft, audits, and transfers checked tag by tag.

Library Fine Kiosk: Scan Your Card, Pay by QR

A self-service kiosk for overdue library fines. Scan an ID card, see the amount, scan a Razorpay QR code made for exactly that fine, and the kiosk confirms the payment on its own. Built at 2CQR and written up as my MCA mini project.

Neuro-Chain: 715 Inventions on a Canvas You Can Steer by Hand

BUDE License Manager: Device-Locked Licences for Android Apps

Licensing for BUDE's proprietary apps: subscription licences bound to devices, signed API calls that can't be replayed, offline tokens, and staff-approved device resets. I wrote the spec, a freelancer built the base app, and I hardened it for Android.

Nov 2025 – Jul 2026 · Frappe · Python · HMAC-SHA256

Tech Presentations: Slide Decks as Validated Data

A presentations site where every deck is a JSON file checked against a schema before it ships. It started as a Reveal.js page and became a Next.js static site that exports any deck to PowerPoint, PDF or Word, deployed by CI to Cloudflare.

Nov 2025 – Present · Next.js 15 · React 19 · Zod

Daily Tech News Buddy: A News Reader That Survives Flaky Feeds

A modular PHP and MySQL ERP for a college, one folder per department. My part was the library: masters for books, locations, publishers and vendors, issue and return, and server-side tables that stay fast as the catalogue grows.

Studies and experiments

Smaller work: research, notes and tools I made to learn something or to get a job done.

  • Dynamic SQL reports and exports

    Nov 2024 – May 2025

A study in metadata-driven reporting: a filter model that describes each report filter (control type, validation, dependent filters, server-side or client-side), stored-procedure notes, and export from SQL to PDF, Excel and Word.

  • Multi-server database backups for Windows

    Jul 2025 – Aug 2025

Batch utilities that back up many MySQL or SQL Server databases across servers: settings in a .env file, timestamped dumps, optional 7-Zip compression, clean-up of old backups, activity and error logs, scheduled with Task Scheduler.

  • ERPNext and RFID for plant nurseries

    Sep 2025 – Oct 2025

An 8,000-word guide to running a plant nursery on ERPNext with RFID: the operational problems, the modules that fit, implementation steps and return on investment. Written alongside the Chainway C72 proposal that led to Bude Suite.

  • ESP32-S3-BOX-3 project ideas
